Fire cross liturgy

About me...
I was born in Central Asia, where my family had been deported due to Soviet policy towards Crimean Tatars during the Second World War. But for the last 8 years I have been living in Bulgaria, where I do find inspirations for the photography and make my living. I've been into photography for many years already, however I got involved seriously into it two years ago: when I decided for photography to be one of the most important things in my life.

Photography for me...
It is hard to explain, because there is an array of criterias. For me, photography is something like thirst or hunger, that pushes you out of the so called comfort zone in order to quench it for a little and then suddenly come back...over and over again.

The awarded photo...
The photo was made in Presentation of Mary Church in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria, where my friend and Fotoferia contributor Krasi Matarov "Muzka" lives. It was him who actually invited me to shoot this ceremony. The liturgy is bright and colorful by itself, so the only thing I had to do was just not to spoil it :-)

The awarded photo in my opinion...
I'm really happy that this very photo took this award, because such beautiful traditions have to be spread amongs photographers, who could then make better photos from even more "clever" angles.

My photographic inspirations...
Everything. In every case inspiration comes from various life situations and aspects - places, light, mood, people, sports, even night dreams.

My biggest photographic achievements to date...
Coincidentally, I have started publishing photos in several contests just since the end of 2015... so I don't have an endless list of awards or acknowledged achievements. There are few and definitely all important to me. Photo of the Month at Fotoferia is one of those as well! ;-)

The dream I have...
To be involved in photography 24/7...

When I shoot then always...
...time stops and I'm lost for the entire world... stop calling me... it's for nothing :-)

When I shoot then never ...
...fully feel aside conditions like weather, temperature, noise - just the viewfinder.

The most funny / scary / strange story that happened to me while shooting...

I've got a lot of overexposed stills while shooting in one ancient Thracian sanctuary - what I struggle to have a logical explanation for, considering weather conditions and camera adjustments.

My photographic know-how and skills come from...
Many years of photography books reading, self-education and experiments with also some workshops attended. Since last year myself and my friends have been organizing photography workshops, so I get a lot of new things from our participants, whose sometimes see the same things from absolutely different perspective. Sometimes these workgroups give me more ideas than I can find in any books.

My current and desired (in future) photo equipment...
Probably additional camera body and ultra-long range prime lenses for landscape and wildlife photography.

At Fotoferia Portal I like the most...
Insane level of presented work with such a big quantity and great anonymous judging system.

What do you think you would change on the portal and why...
Everything is fine, maybe just deeper integration with social medias missing...

My favourite photos in my own port are...

Cannot tell :-)

My fav photos of other authors at Fotoferia...
Too many to choose a few :P

Outside photography...
I run trade business and Europhototour project, providing photo tours to Bulgaria and some other European countries.
